The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans by the application of ionizing radiation to produce quality images as required under a variety of conditions along with assisting physicians as required in the selection of practical applications and technical factors. Job Relationships Reports to the Advanced Imaging Operations Manager Principal Responsibilities Produce quality CT scans and be able to anticipate when additional imaging would be beneficial. Good knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Know the capabilities of the computer/scanner. Able to identify pathology and provide radiologist with accurate measurements and density readings. Operate dry laser printer. Prepare CT films for radiologist to read. Responsible for obtaining outside previous or comparison exams. Familiar with pressure injector and doses. Familiar with contrast material and possible reactions. Obtain complete patient history. Keep log of all patients. Inform all technologists working in CT of all protocols and any changes proposed by the radiologists. Stay current on CT procedures to provide quality service. Must be able to adapt to flexible working hours. Maintain contrast reaction boxes throughout the Radiology department. Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures. Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy. Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy. Perform other job duties as assigned.
