About The Position

The CT Tech II performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies, demonstrating a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. This role requires extensive knowledge of advanced computerized tomography and Interventional CT procedures, as well as digital image processing with PACS archival in a film-less environment. The technician will assist physicians, interpret orders, and explain procedures to nursing staff, patients, and families. Secondary responsibilities include assisting non-technical staff with paperwork, films, CD's/films, and patient transportation. A POM requirement includes rotation through the diagnostic arena. The position demands proficiency in speaking and reading English to perform essential functions, along with knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer skills, including MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, and e-mail. Proficient Windows computer skills, including keyboarding and mouse operations, are required upon employment or within the first two weeks. The CT Tech II will also perform other assigned duties and adhere to Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards, upholding the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 - 5 years directly related experience.
  • Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R) IV certification.
  • Required Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider.
  • Required License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(CT).
  • Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier).
  • Proficient personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
  • Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment.

  • Preferred Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Preferred Experience: 4 - 6 years directly related experience.
  • Preferred License: Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F).
