CSWS Assistant for Accessibility Support
About The Position
The Community Work-Study Assistant for Accessibility Support will play a key role in helping Accessible Education Services ( AES ) connect students with disabilities to the resources they need for equal access. This position involves hands-on interaction with students, including checking in to ensure they understand their accommodations, verifying that course materials are accessible, and assisting them in connecting with other campus supports, including peer tutoring. The role will also include supporting the use of assistive technologies, converting documents to accessible formats, and providing reading services as needed.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a degree program and eligible for Federal Work-Study funding (contact [email protected] for more information)
- Ability to follow structured guidelines
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Consistent availability during regular hours to meet student needs
Nice To Haves
- Experience or interest in working with assistive technology, such as screen readers or text-to-speech tools, or familiarity with digital content creation and formatting for accessibility
- Commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, with a desire to support students with disabilities in achieving equal access to educational resources
