About The Position

The Franciscan Health Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Technician II performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. The CSP Technician II upholds these essential functions, all while practicing in accordance with established procedures, policies, and regulations. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Perform environmental maintenance duties, and assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas. Verify that equipment functions properly, requisition for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and remove defective equipment. Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment, and assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments. Sort mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment, and make them available to sterile processing customers in a timely manner. Assist with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards. Monitor inventory levels of required instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment; restock, label, and maintain inventory levels; submit requisitions, collect and distribute supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
  • Certified Endoscope Preprocessor - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Sterile Processing or Equivalent
