About The Position

The Lead CSP Technician performs duties necessary for the proper decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution, and documentation of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment, according to established procedures. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Cleans and decontaminates reusable equipment, instruments, and supplies, both manually and mechanically. Assesses supplies required for prescribed standard surgical procedures and sets up case carts. Maintains inventory, collects, disassembles, inspects, cleans, disinfects, and reassembles all instrument trays patient care equipment. Monitors, reads, documents, and interprets all parameters for all types of sterilizers to ensure proper function. Performs emergency response duties consistent with training provided and in accordance with Hospital policy. Participates in people management activities for unit team members such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and interviews. Monitors the operations of a unit and provides input to the performance of individuals through feedback and recommendations. Assembles instruments in trays following established tray listings for the issue, storage, or further processing. Labels all packages with lot control number and initials all sets and packs after assembling and wrapping is complete.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • 1 year Healthcare Experience Required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Required or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution Required

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited Surgical Technician/Sterile Processing Program Certificate Preferred
