The position of CSFP Intake Worker will provide timely customer service and support to prospective and current participants. Assist with the recruitment, evaluation, enrollment, and orientation of existing and new clients.  Provide guidelines to clients regarding the distributed products. (CSFP: Commodity Supplemental Food Program, a USDA program that serves seniors.)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Social Service Agency.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
  • Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Able to perform duties on a tight schedule.
  • Familiar with the Los Angeles County area.
  • Drive personal vehicle to distribution site(s) on a regular basis.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand for up to 4 hours per day; must be able to bend, squat, push, pull, and lift up bins of product from 25 to 35 pounds in weight from heights of 36” to 48”.
  • Will be responsible for the timely set up and break down of distribution stations throughout the day, including pop-up canopies, tables and chairs
  • Possess a valid California Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Must be able to travel within Los Angeles County as required. Work assignments may include various facilities and hubs across Los Angeles County, including locations in Los Angeles and the City of Industry, CA. Flexibility to commute between Food Bank facilities as needed is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Food Kit Assembly and Management: Assist in the timely assembly of food kits. Conduct inventory to ensure adequate stock. Coordinate with the delivery driver for the setup and breakdown of the distribution area. Ensure a safe and orderly distribution process.
  • Client Interaction and Solicitation: Solicit potential clients during food distribution at participating agencies. Educate potential clients about the benefits of CSFP. Conduct outreach to attract new clients.
  • Client Enrollment and CSFP Software Scheduling and Reporting: Enroll clients using the CSFP software. Develop weekly/monthly outreach/intake schedules. Complete monthly reports.
  • Acknowledge that duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs.
