About The Position

The Brazoria County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) Director provides executive leadership and oversight of all CSCD operations, programs, grants, and contracted services. Working under limited supervision from the District and County Criminal Court Judges, the Director manages community-based correction programs, long-range planning, fiscal administration, and personnel management to ensure effective, legally compliant service delivery. Work Hours Full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Texas Government Code 76.004, 76.005, as well as Texas Administrative Code Title 37 Part 6 Rules 163.21 & 163.33 requires the District and County Court at law Judges to appoint a CSCD Director who must meet, at minimum, the eligibility requirements for officers.
  • A master's degree conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience in community-based corrections and currently serving in the position of Director or Deputy Director for a CSCD.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Must successfully complete the job application, a background check and Brazoria County employment orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct planning, implementation, and evaluation of community-based correction programs.
  • Oversee long-range planning, budgeting, and fiscal management.
  • Supervise professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and revise departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversee grant proposal development and grant administration.
  • Represent the Department to judges, county officials, agencies, and community partners.
  • Maintain professional development and participate in correctional forums.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
