About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking a CSAT Electronics Technician to support the integration, testing, and troubleshooting of satellite electronic assemblies. This role is designed for an experienced technician with a strong electrical background who can work confidently with small components, battery cells, and complex electronic systems in a production environment. This position serves as a key operational leader on the floor, working under avionics supervision while helping guide build quality, test execution, and problem resolution. An engineering degree or strong college-level technical background is highly valued, along with the right personality to lead by example in a manufacturing setting. This position’s schedule is Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12-hour days.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on electronics experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on electronics, avionics, or electrical test experience
  • Open to a wide experience range, with strong consideration given to candidates with: 3–5 years 7–10 years 8–15+ years of relevant electronics or avionics experience
  • Proven experience working with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting complex systems
  • Leadership presence and ability to guide others without formal authority
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and electronics lab environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks involving small components
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE)
  • Experience in aerospace, satellite, or avionics environments
  • Semiconductor manufacturing or test experience
  • Experience working with battery cells or power systems
  • Strong background in electrical, functional, or environmental testing
  • Prior experience acting as a technical lead or floor support resource
  • Electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Computer-based test systems and data acquisition tools
  • Test scripts, procedures, and digital work instructions
  • MES or test tracking systems (experience preferred, not required)
  • Standard electronics assembly and rework tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronics integration, assembly, and installation of satellite electronic hardware
  • Execute electrical and functional testing on flight and non-flight hardware
  • Support troubleshooting of electronic failures and test anomalies
  • Work with small, high-density components, connectors, and battery cells
  • Conduct computer-based testing, data capture, and test result validation
  • Support semiconductor-related assemblies and handling processes where applicable
  • Identify process issues, test gaps, or build risks and escalate to avionics leads or engineering
  • Assist in guiding and mentoring junior technicians during electronics build and test activities
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, quality, and aerospace manufacturing standards
  • Accurately document test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
