About The Position

The Clinical Support Informaticist I is a unique role that combines clinical knowledge and expertise in clinical informatics. This combined role serves both as a medical assistant (MA) supporting direct patient care and as a resource in promoting the effective and efficient use of our electronic health records (EHRs).

Requirements

  • Current MA-R or MA-C, working at a 1.0 FTE in the Clinical Support Department
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, with experience in Epic strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, willingness to both teach and learn in a collaborative environment
  • Strong critical thinking, sound judgement, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset, takes initiative, and embraces challenges

Responsibilities

  • This position will encompass all the duties in the current Clinic Support Medical Assistant Job Description.
  • Provide end-user support for EPIC including coaching, workflows and at-the-elbow support for all departments.
  • Support EHR new hire orientation and follow up training.
  • Develop and maintain EHR documentation including current workflows, standardization projects, user manuals, procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Support the implementation of EHR upgrades, optimizations, and new systems, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • Act as a liaison between IT teams and end-users to translate clinical needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational staff to assess and refine workflows, ensuring they align with best practices and organizational goals.
  • Contribute to Quality Department special projects.
