About The Position

Join the dynamic team at the Alaska Airlines Center (AAC) as an Crowd Management member. Located on the campus of The University of Alaska Anchorage, AAC is a stunning 196,000 square foot facility that seats up to 5,000 spectators. AAC is home to the UAA Seawolves Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Gymnastics programs. In addition, the AAC hosts music superstars in concert, world class comedians, family shows, and corporate and community events that bring the community together. This part-time position is an essential part of creating memorable experiences for event attendees. As a Crowd Management member at the Alaska Airlines Center (AAC), you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all events hosted at the AAC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the smooth ingress and egress of attendees, implementing emergency response protocols, and ensuring strict adherence to venue and university policies. Prior experience in law enforcement, military, event management or security, along with a keen awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures, as well as the ability to enforce building and university policies would be valuable assets in ensuring a smooth and secure environment for both staff and attendees at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old (age requirement to comply with state alcohol regulations)
Active TAPS certification, or ability to get certification before first day of work
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Possess strong physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods
Exhibit excellent observational and problem-solving skills to identify and address potential issues
Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and handle confrontational or challenging individuals
Ability to successfully pass a background check
Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule
FERPA certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date
Title IX certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date
Behavior Based Safety (BBS) certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date
Workplace Harassment Prevention certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date
Protecting Payment Card Information training (annual training)

Nice To Haves
