About The Position
At The Learning Experience - Tuckahoe, safety is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to providing a secure and nurturing environment for every child in our care. We are seeking a dependable and attentive Crossing Guard to support safe arrival and dismissal times at our center. As a Crossing Guard, you will play an essential role in ensuring that children and families safely cross the street during busy drop-off and pick-up periods. You will help manage traffic flow, support families, and promote a calm, safe environment at all times.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong communication and awareness skills.
- Ability to remain focused and alert during high-traffic times.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children or in a safety role is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and guide traffic in front of the center during arrival and dismissal.
- Assist children and families with safely crossing designated crosswalk areas.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with parents, children, and drivers.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures and center policies.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Center Management Team.
- Maintain a professional and friendly presence at all times.
