About The Position

The Crop Protection Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for active ingredients (AIs), formulations, raw materials, and finished goods within the crop protection portfolio. This role ensures reliable supply, cost optimization, supplier performance, regulatory alignment, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Strong negotiation, sourcing, and supplier management skills
  • Experience with regulatory requirements for agricultural chemicals
  • Global sourcing and risk management experience
  • Demonstrate essential abilities including communications, customer focus, and decision making
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of procurement or crop protection experience
  • Procurement/supply chain certifications
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and negotiation activities for technical AIs, finished goods, and raw materials across the crop protection portfolio.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure cost efficiency, consistent product quality, and supply security.
  • Optimize supply alliances and value chains, identifying global sourcing opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Support lifecycle management strategies, including prioritization and coordination of global registrations (where applicable).
  • Build and maintain relationships with key U.S. and international suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and performance.
  • Expand and diversify the supplier base to reduce single‑source risk and enhance flexibility.
  • Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, logistics, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment across product needs and timelines.
  • Oversee inventory planning, movement, logistics, and coordination with supply chain partners to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with internal procurement teams to manage ending inventories, loyalty programs, and other supply/demand balancing activities.
  • Partner with regulatory teams to ensure that labels, sourcing, and product registrations meet EPA and global regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor geopolitical, climate, and regulatory changes that may impact supply strategy.
  • Lead market intelligence efforts focused on agricultural inputs, competitive dynamics, and global supply trends.
  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and cost‑saving initiatives within the crop protection supply market.
