Job Description Position Summary This position will be a dual role in which assists the Underwriting department in areas to include, but not limited to, application, production, and acreage report processing, research, scanning, and always provide exceptional customer service. The employee will also assist with answering and directing phones, filing, basic bookkeeping and housekeeping, data entry, and administrative support to the office.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of basic administrative and office functions; answering phones, working with spreadsheets, working with basic office equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Strong time management, organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • As well as duties listed above, individuals in this role will be reviewed and coached on: Performance (Research, Availability, Timeliness, Attitude) Initiative/Adaptability (Willingness to take on more, roll with the changes, Change/Adapt to new people, groups, management, systems, etc.
  • Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Preferred - 0–1 year related experience preferred.
  • Experience in crop insurance a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist Underwriters with receiving and processing applications, production and acreage reports.
  • Scan, upload and identify all paperwork in processing system(s).
  • Work with assigned Underwriters to clarify and correct any inconsistent document information.
  • Confirm/Verify policy forms in accordance with Risk Management Agency (RMA) guidelines.
  • Review applications for approval.
  • Process and complete all data entries as required.
  • Prepare data entry.
  • Sort and file; electronically and/or paper.
  • Prepare outgoing mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Prepare and mail paper or electronic correspondence.
  • Prepare and distribute reports as needed.
  • Answer phones, assist callers, take messages, or redirect calls to appropriate party.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment such as copier, fax, printer, etc.
  • Utilize software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Monitor office supplies and other inventory; order and replace as needed.
  • May assist with travel arrangements.
  • May greet and direct visitors.
  • May assist with scheduling and preparing for meetings, training and other events.
  • Handle fleet car maintenance and scheduling for staff to use.
