Job Description Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Business Analyst IIII. Location: This position will be based out of our Lenexa, KS office with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office; 2 days at home). Job Summary As a liaison between the Business SMEs and IT, the primary role of the Business Analyst is to translate general business requirements into formal business and functional requirements. The Business Analyst also supports the Development and QA teams during development and testing activities, plans and executes User Acceptance Testing, and supports the training team to help create User Manuals, where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Any data modeling tool
  • Any process modeling tool
  • Confluence or Jira a plus
  • Basic UML is a plus
  • Axure or other User Interface Design Tool
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience writing traceable business and functional requirements documents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC
  • Familiarity with data and business process modeling
  • Familiarity with BABOK and its methodologies
  • Experience with gathering reporting and data requirements
  • Ability to ask the deeper questions so that the correct level of requirements can be gathered and documented
  • Ability to document report and/or data requirements
  • Ability to lead JAD sessions (Joint Application Development)
  • Experience with UI design specifications and wireframes
  • Agriculture Insurance industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Conducts the as-is and to-be analysis of business systems; analyzes and engineers improved processes
  • Reviews, analyzes documents complex business systems and user needs
  • Collects and business & functional requirements
  • Constructs workflow charts and diagrams
  • Participates in the planning and execution of functional testing
  • Assists in training end users in new applications and business processes
