About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: This job provides anesthetic care for patients in the surgical setting. Become part of a supportive, collaborative anesthesia team at Allegheny Valley Hospital in family-friendly Natrona Heights. Deliver high-quality patient care across a broad range of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, and high-volume GI suites, along with off-site services. Enjoy a schedule designed for work-life balance with Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm shifts, including 8 and 10-hour options, with no call, weekends, or holidays. A sign-on bonus is offered to external hires only. Eligibility requires continued full-time (1.0 FTE) employment with AHN for a minimum of three years in the initially hired position. Rehires must have been separated from AHN for at least twelve months to qualify.

Requirements

  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, evaluates, and implements the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care. Provides accurate medical record documentation.
  • Provides continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and corrects abnormal patient responses. Involves attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNA's knowledge base or scope of practice.
  • Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Follows appropriate safety standards and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Acts as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team. May serve as a mentor to new staff or students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
