About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Provides anesthetic care for patients in the surgical setting. Become part of a supportive, collaborative anesthesia team at Allegheny Valley Hospital in family-friendly Natrona Heights. Deliver high-quality patient care across a broad range of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, and high-volume GI suites, along with off-site services. Enjoy a schedule designed for work-life balance with Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm shifts, including 8 and 10-hour options, with no call, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, evaluates, and implements the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care.
  • Provides accurate medical record documentation.
  • Provides continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and corrects abnormal patient responses.
  • Involves attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the CRNA's knowledge base or scope of practice.
  • Participates, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Follows appropriate safety standards and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Acts as a clinical resource to interdisciplinary health care team.
  • May serve as a mentor to new staff or students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
