About The Position

A respected Dallas-area hospital is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit Nurse Manager to lead the Medical ICU team. This is a strategic leadership role overseeing a 16-bed unit and approximately 45 clinical professionals. The Nurse Manager provides operational direction, ensures the highest standards of patient safety and care, and cultivates a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Requirements

  • Active RN license in Texas or Compact state
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent leadership experience in Critical Care/ICU
  • BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • National specialty certification (CCRN, CNRN, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in a tertiary or teaching hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the delivery of nursing services for the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing assignments, and resource allocation to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Collaborate with physicians and department heads to optimize patient outcomes and streamline care processes.
  • Lead quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets and equipment procurement.
  • Hire, train, and mentor nursing staff, promoting engagement, accountability, and retention.
  • Develop and implement policies, education programs, and evidence-based practices that advance patient care.
  • Serve as a clinical and administrative liaison for critical care services within the hospital.
