About The Position

The Crisis Therapist provides family-based mental health counseling, therapy, and case management services to children and families. They conduct assessments of needs, safety planning, and crisis intervention as needed. In addition, Crisis Therapist link the youth to further mental health services if needed, such as Wraparound, psychotherapy, support groups, and other community services. About the Program The Mobile Response Team ( MRT ) is a 24/7 youth mobile crisis response program which supports youth and their families in crisis when there are concerns for immediate safety. The MRT service is intended to offer families, schools, and providers an alternative to calling 911 when law enforcement may not be necessary for the level of presenting concerns. The goal is to provide early intervention before crises escalate, to divert youth from more restrictive interventions, and reduce criminalization of mental health for youth. The Short-Term Assessment of Resources and Treatment ( START ) Program provides stabilization services following a crisis involving a youth within Pierce County community. The primary goals of the START Program are suicide prevention and safety planning, ongoing crisis management and development of coping skills for youth and their families along with collaboration with other treatment team providers serving the youth. The goal is to provide crisis stabilization and linkage to long-term services while providing same day crisis services in the home or community. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • Eligible to register as a LMFT, LICSW, LMFTA, LSWAIC or LMHC in accordance with the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Own vehicle; valid Washington Drivers License and insurability by Seneca's automobile insurance carrier.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed.
  • Provide counseling, therapy, and case management services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to other community-based resources.
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and additional meetings when necessary.
  • Coordinate with necessary collateral contacts, including caregivers and family members as needed.
  • Work with treatment team to determine course of action for follow-up services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers.
  • Participate in on-call system as needed.
  • Complete progress notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor or designee.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings, weekends, and provide on-call coverage as needed.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training.
