Your role at BHSN: As a Crisis Support Staff I you will assist participants in the crisis respite to learn and apply skills to manage their mental health to stabilize and return to pre-crisis level of functioning with connections to community resources and supports. Shifts Available: We are currently hiring for 2nd shift and overnight (3rd shift) positions. Flexible scheduling options are available, including: 4-day workweek Traditional 5-day schedule Schedules may include weekday and/or weekend coverage, and all positions require availability for at least one weekend day. Generous benefits, including personalized health coverage, paid time off, and holiday pay Working within our community, making a real impact, working alongside passionate colleagues Accessible leadership team, coaching for your growth, and ample training opportunities With BHSN University, we provide our team members with continuous learning, mentorship, and internal education opportunities to encourage our team to continue discovering and innovating As a rapidly growing organization, there are endless opportunities to grow within the organization Community discounts, loan forgiveness & more What your day might look like: Assist in developing clear treatment strategies based on specific needs of each consumer and composed as a formal treatment plan and percentage plan to the treatment team and consumer; Provides services including treatment and education in accord with the treatment plan such as de escalation, use of coping skills, self care skills; Documents all aspects of the evaluation and treatment process to potentiate patient care, facilitate effective treatment coordination, and ensure regulatory compliance; Coordinate treatment with other behavioral health services, other providers, probation, parole, including facilitating referrals for inpatient treatment to maximize quality and effectiveness of care; Supports collaboration and teamwork by sharing information and responding to questions/requests from rehabilitation team and other support providers; Maintains client confidentiality and confidential health information; Promotes service recipients' growth and development; Assist participants moving into and out of the respite; Assist in maintaining a safe, sanitary dwelling; Observe participants self medication administration in accordance with protocols; Participates in meetings as scheduled; Assists with training new staff members; Comply with BHSN policies and procedures; Additional duties as assigned. Your skills and qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Degree or significant experience in the human services field Experience providing direct support. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively as well as to organize tasks. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programs. Knowledge of substance abuse issues including features of alcohol and various drug abuse signs and symptoms, intervention strategies, awareness of associated medical concerns. Ability to climb stairs; ability to lift 25 pounds. Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel.
