About The Position

This position works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Administrator. The Crisis RN Manager provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff and mental health technicians within Crisis Services, located at the Resource and Crisis Center, including a Crisis Residential Unit and a Crisis Stabilization unit. The nursing manager will oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations, participate in on-call crisis responses, and support quality assurance and interdepartmental collaboration.  The Crisis RN Manager is a liaison to department directors and administration to ensure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments within Crisis Services and OCHN. The Crisis RN Manager has responsibility for treatment services provided by the nursing department for individuals served. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to providing administrative management, training and supervision/evaluation of all nursing staff, house supervisors, and unit clerks; prioritization and delegation of duties; staff scheduling; and performing direct patient care services as required. This working supervisor role must work in cooperation with physician staff and other department managers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the recruitment andselectionofappropriate skilllevels and numbers of nursing service personnel.
  • Provides clinical oversight to all clinical and non-clinical staff on a daily basis.
  • Conduct/arrange adequate training of all full-time and part-time employees in positions to meet effective program needs and tomaintainemployee competency
  • Responsible for the effective management of the facilities services on a daily basis, including planning, organizing, and directing all functions and assigned activities; establishment of goals and objectives, standards of performance and care; development of clinical policy and procedure; provision of direct clinical services; and evaluation of clinical staff, systems and improvement processes.
  • Provides professional nursing care including assessment,careand treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the accrediting bodies
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Providessupervision and coordination of the stabilizationand residentialunitsto both nurses and nursing supervisors.
  • Oversees services and activities to ensure quality patient care.
  • Oversees new employee orientation and on-the-job training for all new nurses,nursing supervisors,milieuspecialistsand behavioral health techniciansin accordance withestablished orientation program plans.
  • Make rounds on the unit at least two times per day andparticipatein shift report meetings when possible.
  • Communicate and provide consultation training to staff.
  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage and continuity of carewithin the units and crisis services.
  • Ensure nursing care aligns with clinical standards, licensing requirements, and best practices.
  • Monitor and audit clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, including incident reviews and corrective actions.
  • Oversee the ordering, storage, administration, and disposal of medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor medication administration records (MARs) and ensure proper documentation.
  • Investigate and track medication errors and adverse drug events; lead root cause analyses and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure staff are trained and competent in medication administration protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and all applicable privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain readiness for inspections and audits by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Promote continuing education and professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Assistin the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff adherence to policies through education, supervision, and corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned.
