This is a full-time law enforcement position. The Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) is a collaborative effort between the City of Fredericksburg Police Department (FPD) and the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB). It is comprised of police officers and Emergency Services (ES) clinicians who will respond as a team. The goal is to de-escalate situations involving persons in crisis as well as connecting them to resources that may help address current needs. In addition, follow up and home visits involving high 911 utilizers will be conducted. The CIRT will follow up with individuals, family members, and/or caregivers after a crisis to offer support that might assist a person in connecting to services.
