Requirements

Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State.
Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum three (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit
Assaultive Behavior Management training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
DMH certification required for 5150 detention.

Nice To Haves

LPS certification preferred or needs to obtain this prior to commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs.
Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights.
Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed.
Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.
