Immediate opening for a full time Criminal Justice Liaison. This position covers Cumberland, Rhea, and Bledsoe counties. EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Work within local criminal justice system to assist inmates with various aspects of re-entry planning, using the APIC Model to develop re-entry plans with inmates in coordination with Board of Probation and Parole. Conduct screenings using instruments approved in grant to determine substance abuse and co-occurring disorders among inmates. Complete referrals for services and conduct readiness groups to assist inmates with reintegration into the community. Conduct case management and wrap-around activities to assist with re-entry and conduct follow-up activities with inmates post-release. Conduct job readiness groups with inmates using evidence-based practice strategies. Work closely with treatment team to ensure coordination of services upon release. Implement and/or assist with facilitation of Illness Management and Recovery services upon release. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Experience working with adults in the criminal justice system, understanding of specific cultural issues and the region. Knowledge of mental illness, addiction and co-occurring disorders. Ability to interact with community members, participate as a team in coalition meetings and advocate on behalf of targeted population. Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to travel to homes and work with various community organizations on behalf of participants. Organizational skills necessary. EDUCATIONAL/ EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field and experience with criminal justice populations. A Bachelor’s degree with related experience will be considered.
