Requirements
- Ability to perform the full range of duties with general instruction and supervision
- Strong communication skills for interaction with co-workers, supervisory staff, and customers
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License
- Criminal background and driving record checks required
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled laboring tasks in street sanitation
- Operate various trucks and heavy equipment
- Drive and operate street sweepers, water trucks, trash trucks, dump trucks, and recycling trucks
- Operate forklifts and drive roll-offs to empty dumpsters
- Mow grass using tractors, mowers, or weed-eaters
- Sand icy or oily streets, shovel snow, rake leaves
- Clean gutters and repair barricades
- Perform routine ground maintenance tasks
- Complete work order and daily report paperwork
- Execute related tasks as required
