About The Position

The Landscape Foreman in Training is a hands-on position and is expected to work as part of the grounds management crew as well as substituting for the crew’s foreman during absences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Foreman in training and instruction on all aspects of landscape grounds management services
  • Digging, planting, raking, watering and clean up of landscapes
  • Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks
  • Collection of company owned equipment and tools at the end of the day
  • Safe operation of the following equipment: Mowers – push, walk-behind and riding
  • Tillers, aerators, slit seeders (On occasion wheel tractors)
  • Edger, string trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers
  • Backpack sprayers and blowers
  • Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pruning tools
  • Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and materials each day
  • Perform and/or participate in crew and department general and safety meetings
  • Prepare timesheets and other daily paperwork as required by the company
  • Drive a company owned vehicles trucks (with or without trailers) and transporting crew members on routes
  • Maintain on site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation controller (changing times, replacing heads, etc.)
  • May be asked to help in other divisions such as maintenance or floriculture as needed
