Crew Chief - Streets Division
About The Position
PUBLIC WORKS: Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving the: construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, roadways, drainage, and utility lines and systems; cleaning of buildings and other public facilities; and landscaping and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from a crew leader or a field supervisor, and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience in assigned area; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Florida Restricted Pesticide License may be required, depending on assignment.
- Florida Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and home telephone number may be required, depending on assignment.
