About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Creditor's Right Attorney in South Carolina. This role focuses on representing clients in creditor’s rights matters, including mortgage foreclosure, collections, and bankruptcy proceedings. The attorney will manage a high volume of cases, providing expert guidance across litigation, appellate matters, and conflict resolution. You will work closely with clients, courts, and internal teams to ensure efficient case management while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards. The role requires proactive relationship-building within the legal community, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate South Carolina’s legal system. Some travel and court appearances across the state are expected. Requirements

  • Active membership in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar
  • Licensed (or ability to obtain license) in South Carolina federal district and bankruptcy courts
  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections
  • Knowledge of discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution procedures
  • Familiarity with South Carolina legal system and relevant creditor’s rights laws
  • Strong leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage high caseloads and provide superior client service
  • Willingness to travel across the state for hearings and court appearances
  • Professional demeanor and ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and other creditor’s rights matters
  • Manage a significant caseload efficiently, ensuring adherence to deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Conduct discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution in ongoing cases
  • Provide appellate support and interpret relevant laws including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Attend court hearings and manage associated travel requirements
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior legal staff as needed
  • Support firm growth initiatives and uphold the firm’s reputation for excellence
