Position Overview: Reporting to the Head of U.S. Credit Exposure, the Credit Risk Analyst will partner closely with partnering with Reinsurance, Alternative Risk Solutions, Shared Risk Casualty, Workers Compensation, Surety, and Trade Credit teams by conducting thorough financial, credit, and country risk assessments of counterparties and sectors. This role is focused on providing high-quality, data-driven analysis to enable informed underwriting decisions and effective portfolio management. The Credit Risk Analyst will contribute to the department’s risk selection, exposure monitoring, and policy development, ensuring alignment with the company’s risk appetite and strategic objectives. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in credit analysis at a bank, ratings agency, insurance company, or asset manager
  • Strong financial statement analysis and credit modeling skills across multiple sectors
  • Knowledge of political and country risk factors impacting international trade, investments, and corporate earnings
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and credit research databases (e.g., Capital IQ, Moody’s, DNB, AM Best, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal reporting and presentations
  • Highly collaborative and able to work and effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Credit & Financial Analysis Perform detailed financial statement analysis of corporate entities across various sectors & reinsurers
  • Develop credit profiles and internal ratings to support underwriting teams including scoring, collateral requirements, proactive monitoring, exposure limit views, etc.
  • Maintain financial models and provide forward-looking assessments of credit risk
  • Monitor geopolitical and macroeconomic developments affecting Reinsurance, Alternative Risk Solutions, Loss Sensitive business, Surety, and Trade Credit teams
  • Provide objective credit risk analysis to underwriters for new submissions and renewals
  • Draft concise credit memos summarizing key risks and recommendations for internal review
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting Track counterparty risks including sector, rating, collateral, and exposures across the portfolio
  • Monitor and escalate adverse credit developments that may impact relevant exposures
  • Assist in portfolio stress testing, scenario analysis, and concentration management
  • Internal Collaboration Work closely with underwriters, reinsurance, finance, actuaries, claims, and other internal teams to support disciplined risk evaluation
  • Contribute to refining risk assessment methodologies, models, and underwriting tools
  • Prepare internal reports and presentations for risk committees and senior management
