We are seeking a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Credit Controller to join our team at Eagle Business Credit. Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will be hard-working, accountable, motivated, natural influencers, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or credit underwriting; factoring or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with commercial collections, billing, and cash application/processing is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with strong client‑facing abilities.
  • Solid judgment and decision‑making skills, especially regarding credit risk and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrates accountability, ownership, and consistent follow‑through.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, maintaining performance under pressure.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
  • Strong technical proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly (e.g., CRM, accounting software).

Responsibilities

  • Process daily administrative tasks, including payment posting, invoice handling, and document management.
  • Reconcile collections against bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage hold account ledgers to apply unallocated payments accurately.
  • Make credit decisions within approved authority based on references and payment history.
  • Review client invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up with clients to obtain required original documents and report delinquencies as needed.
  • Monitor performance of assigned portfolios in line with EBC’s credit control policies.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective account management.
  • Perform debtor verifications and notifications in accordance with company procedures.
  • Use aging reports, risk scores, and collection queues to prioritize outreach and apply effective collection strategies.
  • Ensure account receivables are accurate and payments are correctly applied.
  • Provide excellent customer service while protecting EBC’s financial interests and minimizing risk.
  • Identify early warning signs of potential financial issues and escalate with recommendations.
  • Recognize fee‑earning opportunities during client interactions.
  • Monitor ledgers proactively to help prevent avoidable losses.
  • Perform additional tasks to support credit and portfolio management as needed.
