About The Position

The Credit Analyst is responsible for enforcing credit policies and procedures as required by the company and directed by the Director of Finance. This role will collaborate closely with our agent base and with various personnel levels to achieve business objectives through timely and accurate completion of credit requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ prior work experience as a credit analyst.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general computer use.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth risk analysis by examining credit applications, analyzing payment history, reviewing credit agency reports, analyzing financial statements, and conducting industry and economic research to assess the credit worthiness and degree of risk to establish credit limits for existing and prospective customers.
  • Ability to assess the financial strength of existing and prospective customers by reviewing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statements) and performing financial ratio analysis to determine liquidity and earnings capacity to establish and maintain credit limits.
  • Ongoing monitoring of established credit limits to ensure the needs of the business are being met and perform trend analysis to monitor and foresee potential credit risk.
  • Interact and build credibility with all levels of management and agent base by providing alternative options and recommendations to establish credit when available information is limited.
  • Establish and maintain proper credit risk controls and risk management controls in designated systems and enforce company credit policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist with managing setup and maintenance processes for customer master files and developing and communicating new customer approval procedures across Bridgeway organization and ensure all information is obtained to ensure timely and proper setups.
  • Assist management with crafting AR management on complex/troubled accounts as well as customers on which business can be further developed.
  • Special projects as requested and other initiatives to increase efficiency within the department and to meet the company’s mission of providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
