About The Position

The Credit Analyst II is responsible for helping to maintain the asset quality of the bank on credit transactions through appropriate underwriting, analyzing, and risk rating of existing and prospective loan transactions managed by the lending staff.

Requirements

  • Must have proven experience underwriting CRE, C&I loans, preferably in a Community Banking environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending compliance issues.
  • Track record of effectively communicating and collaborating in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preference in accounting/finance. Strong understanding of accounting and cash flow modeling.
  • Minimum 4-9 years in Commercial Credit Analysis and Underwriting roles.
  • Confidentiality – This position requires a high level of confidentiality. This position has access to customer’s financial information and personal information.
  • Communication – This position will have contact with the public and departments. Must be able to communicate effectively and have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Multitasking/Sound Judgment – Needs the ability to multitask, quick and accurate decisions and be organized. Decisions need to be made in the best interest of the bank while mitigating any risk to loss. Must be able to handle various processes at the same time and be able to work, under tight deadlines.
  • Computer Skills/Technology – Must have proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and be familiar with automated statement spreading software and loan application systems (including Abrigo Sageworks).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Lenders to achieve growth goals while maintaining credit quality and independence of the Credit control function.
  • Must be able to handle various underwriting deals, from simple to complex credits and across asset and borrower types (i.e. CRE and C&I loans)
  • Proactively manage assigned credit transactions and workflow to ensure expected service levels.
  • Ensure credit analysis, loan risk ratings and annual credit reviews, and appraisal reviews are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assure compliance with Bank Credit Policy, risk appetite guidelines and all Regulatory requirements.
  • Be knowledgeable and act as a subject matter expert related to safe and sound banking practice, standard underwriting practice and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss, including ASC310 Impairment Analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of reporting applicable to the management and measurement of asset quality metrics; inclusive of concentration and stress testing, reporting, as well as production volume within the credit department.
  • Escalate credit issues so as to ensure the Company maintains the highest standards for Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Advise and consult with Senior Credit Officer and Lenders towards the development of effective underwriting practices and policy revisions.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement; seek opportunities to add value to the position and improve overall credit quality of the loan portfolio.
  • Assist with overall asset quality, loan review function and respond to audit findings.
