About The Position

The Credentialing Operations Coordinator serves as the essential "digital front door" for the Medical Staff office. This role is responsible for the initial intake, pre-screening, and administrative lifecycle of Physicians and Allied Health Professionals seeking to practice within the health system. Operating in a fully remote capacity, this position ensures that the onboarding process for high-level medical providers is seamless, professional, and highly organized.

Requirements

  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written proficiency in English; ability to communicate with high-level medical professionals with poise and clarity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience navigating complex databases (MSOW experience is a significant plus).
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage sensitive legal and medical data with 100% accuracy.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle high-pressure situations with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Must reside in CO, FL, GA, KY, IL, NC, TN, or TX.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive, "squeaky clean" criminal background check.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test. Please note: This includes testing for Marijuana/THC , regardless of local or state medicinal/legalization status, in accordance with our health system's safety and federal compliance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provider Intake & Engagement: Acts as the primary remote point of contact for potential new medical staff members, providing top-tier customer service and guidance through the initial inquiry phase.
  • Application Management: Pre-screens potential applicants to ensure basic requirements are met before sending out electronic applications and officially assigning them to the Credentialing Team.
  • Database Administration: Serves as a power user of the MSOW database , performing regular data cleanup, running queries, and updating provider profiles to ensure all digital records are current.
  • Status & Privilege Updates: Processes change requests for medical staff, including changes of status, campus transfers, and additional privilege requests for Physicians and Allied Health Professionals.
  • Committee Support: Virtually prepares and organizes digital meeting packets for the Allied Health Review Panel and the Credentials Committee to ensure leadership has all necessary documentation for approval sessions.
  • Primary Source Verification: Assists the credentialing team with verifying provider credentials (licenses, certifications, etc.) as needed to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Professional Correspondence: Manages high-volume email and phone inquiries regarding credentialing status, providing clear and professional updates to providers and hospital leadership.
