About The Position

The Credentialing Coordinator supports the Licensure Strategy department, which drives UT MD Anderson’s out-of-state licensing efforts in alignment with the Reach strategic theme and virtual care goals. The Credentialing Coordinator plays a key role in streamlining licensure and credentialing processes to reduce administrative burden for providers engaged in interstate medical practice while ensuring compliance with state and institutional requirements. The Credentialing Coordinator works within MD Anderson Cancer Center, a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. In this role, the Credentialing Coordinator contributes directly to expanding access to care by supporting accurate, timely, and compliant out-of-state licensure for clinical faculty and other designated licensed practitioners. The ideal candidate for the Credentialing Coordinator role brings prior data entry experience and is a collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative, a strong desire to learn, excellent communication skills, and consistent professionalism. Minimum $25.48 – Midpoint $31.73 – Maximum $37.98 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. Work Schedule: Remote within Texas , with the ability to come onsite based on business needs. Why Us? Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three years experience in medical staff services, credentialing, accounting, auditing, or other related field

Nice To Haves

  • Prior data entry experience.
  • CPCS – Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of obtaining and maintaining out-of-state licenses for MD Anderson clinical faculty and designated licensed practitioners
  • Ensure timely submission of applications in compliance with state-specific regulations
  • Track license expirations and manage renewal processes to prevent lapses in licensure
  • Monitor ongoing maintenance requirements and proactively address licensure issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the credentialing database
  • Maintain integrity and completeness of licensure records
  • Review prepopulated applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify discrepancies, conduct research, and resolve deficiencies
  • Escalate complex issues to leadership to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for administrative support staff in clinical departments
  • Provide guidance on licensure requirements and processes
  • Facilitate communication to support a coordinated out-of-state licensing strategy
  • Develop and maintain job aids, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance in licensure and credentialing processes
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders as needed
