About The Position

Kids Science Labs (KSL), a leader in center-based creativity and innovation education for 15 years, is seeking a dynamic teacher to lead hands-on STEAM lessons. The role involves guiding children aged 4-10 in discovery, problem-solving, and creativity at KSL's learning centers and partner schools. The ideal candidate is motivated, passionate, and able to adapt, learn, and engage kids, strongly believing in KSL's mission. The position requires working 30-40 hours per week, year-round, including summer months, with no homework or parent/teacher conferences. KSL values great teachers from diverse backgrounds, including artists, musicians, actors, nannies, or traditional teachers, emphasizing strong communication, engagement with children, and exceptional customer service. KSL aims to inspire kids to build a better future by using hands-on science as a tool for everyday learning and discovery.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree (preferably in education, art, science)
• Ability to learn, adapt, and operate in a dynamic and creative environment
• Strong classroom management skills and preparation skills
• Desire to help explore questions rather than give kids answers
• Capable of lifting a bin of engaging science materials and being able to push it into and out of classrooms
• Ability to communicate well
• Ability to engage kids
• Desire to provide exceptional customer service to fellow teachers, parents, and the kids that visit KSL weekly
• Requires transportation to and from a school for hands-on science during a portion of the academic year
