About The Position

Under general supervision, the Creative Services Lead is responsible for executing creative strategies and projects, including conceptualizing, designing and producing various media for print and digital communications and branding. Supports daily operations of the creative services team in partnership with management staff. Work is varied and moderately complex and requires moderate discretion and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to implement best practices for designing effective, engaging, and persuasive content for print and digital communications.
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end production process for printed materials
  • In-depth knowledge of brand management and ability to implement brand concepts.
  •  Basic skills audio and video production and editing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to use technology needed to publish content to website platform, including expertise with: WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite; Video (i.e., After Effects); HTML and Search Engine Optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of and skilled in the use of web analytics software (Google Analytics).
  • Ability to read and interpret business requirements, including directives from regulators related to print and digital communications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, application development, graphic design, digital communication or related; and
  • At least four years’ experience as graphics designer for print or digital media; and
  • At least two years of experience in website development; and
  • At least one year experience managing creative   or marketing projects; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience using video/audio editing software.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to use content management software (experience with SharePoint, WordPress, etc.).
  • Experience producing digital communications such as filming and editing of video, production of audio, and written web content
  • Experience in healthcare, managed care and/or Medi-Cal or other state sponsored program.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies project requirements and/or creative specifications.
  • Provides creative consultation to creative services team and business units, including troubleshooting, strategy and solutions.
  • Participates in strategic planning and development of marketing campaigns.
  • Develops concepts that align with HPSJ’s brand strategy and related marketing and communications projects.
  • Designs web page layout or provides creative direction for website development; may support development of web pages or perform maintenance tasks, including layouts, web pages and content.
  • Develops graphics for social media assets and content.
  • Maintains social media sites and ensures sites remain current with organization details and application updates.
  • Develops and edits copy used for marketing collateral and communications; assists with review and editing of marketing and member content.
  • Designs materials for print and digital media.
  • Develops and maintains Marketing SharePoint pages; supports design of graphic elements used for organizational pages.
  • Develops concepts and provides creative direction for videos for internal and external use.
  • Assists team members with questions and issues and works closely with team in service review process.
  • Reviews project costs, researches options and makes recommendations regarding potential cost containment strategies.
  • Requests translations of member materials using established processes; reviews translations to ensure adherence with internal and external standards.
  • Develops or assists in the development of creative services policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements workflows to ensure quality and timely delivery of creative projects.
  • Provides training to new employees based on established guidelines.
  • Serves as backup to the creative services team.
