The Opportunity The Creative Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic direction outlined in the brand guidelines, execution, and continuous evolution of the company’s creative output. This role provides direction to an in-house creative team comprised of graphic designers, writers and a coordinator. This role supports internal stakeholders including product marketing, digital marketing, events and conventions, sales operations and members of the commercial leadership team. The Creative Manager is also responsible for vetting and managing external agencies and contractors to ensure all creative work is on-brand, strategically aligned, and effectively supports business objectives. The Creative Manager provides creative leadership and direction rather than functioning as a daily individual contributor. Strong leadership skills including experience leading an internal creative team in addition to a strong creative background is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional creative experience with progressive responsibility
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing creative teams
  • Experience working in an in-house creative environment and collaborating with external agencies
  • Strong understanding of branding, visual identity systems, and messaging strategy
  • Ability to evaluate and provide direction on creative work across design and copy disciplines
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align creative output to business objectives
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Proven working knowledge of creative systems, tools, workflows, and production processes, with a portfolio demonstrating concept-to-execution leadership across digital, motion, social, and campaign work.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously update and evolve Brand Guidelines. Including updated image permissions, templates and examples of use.
  • Establish and maintain the overall creative vision in alignment with brand and marketing strategy
  • Translate brand strategies and business objectives into clear creative direction and standards
  • Ensure consistent visual and verbal brand expression across all channels and touchpoints
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy to align creative initiatives with long-term brand vision
  • Lead concept-to-execution creative across digital, motion, social, and omnichannel campaigns, with a strong portfolio demonstrating visual leadership and execution.
  • Drive art direction for photoshoots and video productions, creating high-impact digital assets that shape campaign storytelling across platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary in-house creative team, including designers, copywriters, and a creative coordinator
  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development
  • Review creative work and provide actionable guidance to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic alignment
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing creative team culture focused on meeting deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary creative partner to Brand teams and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Brand teams to understand objectives, priorities, and timelines
  • Translate brand initiatives into cohesive creative strategies and executions
  • Balance creative innovation with speed, scalability, and business needs
  • Manage relationships with external creative agencies, freelancers, and production partners
  • Provide clear creative briefs and strategic direction to external partners
  • Review and approve external creative work to ensure alignment with brand standards and internal objectives
  • Evaluate and determine appropriate use of internal versus external creative resources
  • Own creative intake, prioritization, and workflow processes across the team. Focus on meetings deadlines.
  • Partner with the Creative Coordinator to manage project timelines, capacity, and delivery
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and creative output
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on brand, and within scope
  • Explore and prototype ideas using emerging tools (including AI and generative design) to accelerate workflows and expand creative range across digital channels.
