This role is crucial for changing that by focusing on what customers need to hear and fundamentally altering how Jerry.ai communicates with and cares for them. The Creative Director will be the voice of Jerry, crafting email sequences, push notifications, navigating social media, and shaping new feature launches to earn brand trust and cultivate an enduring community. Requirements

  • A copywriting virtuoso who knows that every word matters.
  • Ability to translate complex, dry, and stressful topics (car insurance, loans, repairs) into engaging, human, and accessible copy.
  • A T-Shaped marketer with deep expertise in copywriting, audience development, and product positioning.
  • A great sense of the social media landscape and community dynamics (like Reddit).
  • A first principles thinker who avoids making assumptions and can turn qualitative data and user pain points into resonant, empathetic marketing copy.
  • Comfortable with discomfort, having weathered fast-growing startups before.
  • Ability to confidently push back on highly analytical, data-first teams to champion the unmeasurable value of a great brand experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in creative marketing with a heavy focus on copywriting (and proven success with email and SMS campaigns).
  • Experience working with consumer startups.
  • A portfolio showcasing both writing and creative craft.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Build a brand playbook in partnership with the CEO, including defining the company's personality and voice across all organic surfaces.
  • Personally write email campaigns, draft in-app tooltips, and engage with drivers on platforms like Reddit.
  • Overhaul existing customer communications, including CRM, email, SMS, and in-app copy, transitioning messaging from functional to value-additive and relationship-driven.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams to build trust, engagement, and drive long-tail conversion.
  • Take bigger creative swings to help the brand stand out online, such as pitching and running campaigns (e.g., a $150K car giveaway).
  • Own the positioning and messaging for new products like GarageGuard.
  • Build a team to manage organic Go-To-Market (GTM) launches and the social media presence (like Reddit) with native channel expertise.
