About The Position

Edelman is seeking a Temporary Creative Director, Art to lead the development of culturally impactful, visually driven ideas that shape conversation and influence culture. This role sits at a senior leadership level and is responsible for elevating the creative output across accounts while mentoring and guiding multidisciplinary teams. Our creative work spans earned-first campaigns, brand storytelling, and culture-driving ideas that break beyond traditional marketing. The Temporary Creative Director, Art will play a critical role in setting the visual standard, ensuring excellence in craft, and driving innovation across all channels. This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly conceptual thinker and maker. You will oversee and inspire teams to create bold, integrated campaigns across social, digital, video, experiential, and emerging platforms. You will partner closely with Creative Directors, Copy and cross-functional leads to ensure ideas are strategically sound, culturally relevant, and executed at the highest level.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in art direction, design, or related creative fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing creative teams
  • Expertise in visual design principles including layout, typography, motion, and systems thinking
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard tools
  • Experience across video, digital, social, and experiential production
  • Strong client leadership and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience contributing to new business and agency growth initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the visual development of integrated, earned-first campaigns across multiple clients and new business initiatives
  • Set and uphold a high standard of design, art direction, and visual storytelling across all deliverables
  • Guide teams from concept through execution, ensuring creative excellence at every stage
  • Mentor, manage, and inspire art directors, designers, and broader creative teams
  • Partner with Creative Directors, Copy, strategy, account, and production to deliver cohesive, impactful work
  • Drive innovation by identifying new formats, platforms, and creative opportunities
  • Lead client presentations and serve as a senior creative voice in client relationships
  • Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Contribute to new business development, including pitch work and thought leadership
