About The Position

Will assist Athletic Creative Team with a variety of photo and video related tasks. May include producing creative assets for a designated Liberty Athletics team. Individual may be assigned to and embedded with a designated team throughout their season. The creative deliverables will be used on Liberty Athletics social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) as well as in recruiting. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced team and to make a real impact promoting Liberty Athletics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Creative, self-motivated individual who takes initiative. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications preferred. Work as a member of the Athletic Creative Team to ensure that the creative needs of Liberty Athletics are met. Demonstrate competency with social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Understanding of athletics and how to use video and photo content to tell a story. Photography and/or videography experience. Edit video projects. Effective communicator both verbally and written. Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines. Ability to work nights and weekends. Ability to travel if needed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with preferred field of study in Communications or a related field. To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record. ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and Comprehension Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information. Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner. Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates. Strong organizational skills. Excellent computer skills. Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Physical and Sensory Abilities Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as assigned. Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform creative work or type on a keyboard. Regularly required to hear and discern sounds. Regularly required to see and discern colors. Regularly work in an outdoor environment, such as an athletics event. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop in order to conduct business. Standing, walking, and climbing stairs are occasionally required to move about the building. Regularly lift 20 or fewer pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position will vary from climate-controlled office setting to outdoor athletic events.
