About The Position

The Creative Design & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing Menlo Church’s communication strategy. This role oversees digital platforms, marketing campaigns, brand messaging, and graphic design, ensuring consistent and compelling communication across all channels. They collaborate with ministry and creative teams to craft messaging and visual assets that engage the community, support ministry initiatives, and strengthen the church’s presence and outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in graphic design, digital communications, or creative project coordination, preferably in a ministry, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
  • Proficiency with digital platforms such as social media management tools, email marketing platforms, website CMS (e.g., WordPress or Squarespace), and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Figma).
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate vision and values into clear, engaging messaging.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, pastoral, and operational teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience maintaining brand standards and visual consistency across communication channels.
  • Digital & Technical Proficiency – Skilled in managing social media, email marketing, website updates, and digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp, Figma).
  • Graphic Design – Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Figma to create visual assets that align with brand standards.
  • Strategic Communication & Storytelling – Able to craft clear, compelling messages that reflect the church’s mission and engage diverse audiences.
  • Project & Campaign Management – Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver multiple projects and campaigns on time.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork – Works effectively with staff, volunteers, and creative partners to maintain a consistent voice and visual identity.
  • Creative & Adaptive Thinking Brings fresh ideas, learns quickly, and adapts communication and design strategies based on feedback and evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication and marketing strategies aligned with the church’s mission and ministry calendar.
  • Create and oversee visual and written content for social media, email, web, print, and video platforms.
  • Design graphic assets and templates that support church initiatives, sermon series, and events.
  • Maintain and evolve the church’s brand identity, ensuring consistent visual and messaging standards across all channels.
  • Manage website and digital content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and a strong user experience.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders, campus teams, and the creative team to communicate key stories, events, and initiatives.
  • Write and edit content that reflects the church’s voice and engages the church community.
  • Present creative concepts and incorporate feedback to refine communication and design outcomes.
  • Lead and equip creative volunteers across the organisation to be involved in the creative process.
