About The Position

Cianbro Equipment is a leader in the construction equipment industry, providing exceptional service and support across multiple sectors. With a commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, we specialize in the rental, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of heavy machinery for construction projects throughout the U.S. We are seeking an experienced Crawler Crane Assembly and Disassembly Technician to work out of our Pittsfield, Maine location and travel across the eastern U.S. This role involves supporting the assembly and disassembly of both company-owned and rented crawler cranes at various job sites along with other types of equipment when necessary. The preferred candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills, safety awareness, and a willingness to grow their expertise toward an A/D Director Certification.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy construction industry.
  • Crane signal person certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Basic rigging skills with a willingness to learn advanced techniques.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of crane mechanics.
  • Must have basic mechanic tools.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel and stay away from home for extended periods (several days to weeks).
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to communicate effectively with clients and peers.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Crane operator certification from an accredited organization (e.g., NCCCO, NCCER) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites to assist with the safe assembly and disassembly of cranes, working closely with the A/D Director and project teams.
  • Work with the A/D Director to learn the assembly and disassembly of different cranes, with a pathway to pursue A/D Director Certification.
  • Make mechanical repairs to cranes and crane components as needed to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
  • Drive a company vehicle to various work locations, ensuring tools and equipment are transported safely and securely, when applicable.
  • Perform monthly and annual inspections on assembled cranes to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assembly, disassembly, repairs, and inspections conducted.
  • Work from a New England based location when travel schedule allows.
