About The Position

As a Marine Crane Operator in Belford Ga, at Garney Construction, you will be responsible for performing heavy picks on a floating barge using a lattice boom or hydraulic crane. Crane operator may utilize various pile driving equipment. This role requires teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety on the water. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our marine services. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Picking heavy pipe, miscellaneous equipment, setting spuds on the barge and driving sheets on land. Perform daily inspections on equipment to ensure proper function. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the deck and equipment, including cleaning deck/barge, equipment and report any equipment malfunctions or repairs. Follow all safety protocols and assist in safety drills. Ensure that safety equipment is accessible and in good condition. Support other crew members in their tasks as needed, maintaining effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Must have a NCCCO Crane Operator License for Lattice boom and hydraulic cranes. (Or other equivalent certification).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience operating a hydraulic lattice boom and crawler cranes.
  • Basic understanding of rigging, working loads and signals.
  • Experience from working from floating barges is desired.
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Basic Safety Training (BST) or equivalent certifications preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform tasks that require lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience from working from floating barges is desired.
  • Basic Safety Training (BST) or equivalent certifications preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.
