Cassidy, Inc. is seeking a skilled Lattice Boom Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating lattice boom cranes in challenging environments such as marshes, swamps, over water, and other restricted-access areas. The operator will be responsible for setting up, inspecting, and safely operating cranes to move heavy materials, equipment, and structures for subsurface and pole-setting projects. Candidates will be required to do groundwork to help crews out as needed. Candidates must be willing to travel throughout the Southeast United States 80%-100% of the time. Applicants must also be willing to drive to our Prairieville location for 1 week of training and before the start of each hitch. Hotels and travel expenses are paid for by the Company while on a job. Meals are covered by $50/day per diem. Transportation methods are provided by the company leaving from the Prairieville, LA location.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating lattice boom cranes in construction or subsurface projects.
  • NCCCO certification (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of crane operation safety protocols, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and perform tasks under various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Varied experience with light, medium, heavy, and super heavy cranes is a plus
  • May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.
  • May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.
  • A valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate lattice boom cranes to lift, position, and place materials and structures according to project plans.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the crane to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Collaborate with site foremen and other construction crew members to coordinate lifting operations.
  • Work in diverse environments, including marshes, swamps, over water, and urban areas with limited access.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and OSHA standards, prioritizing safety in all operations.
  • Transport and set up cranes and other heavy equipment at various job sites.
  • Follow precise project specifications for foundation work and pole or tower setting.
