What this job involves: The Crane Maintenance Technician performs hands-on maintenance and repair activities for crane systems, ensuring safety compliance, quality workmanship, and operational reliability. This technical role focuses on executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks while maintaining the highest safety and performance standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in crane operations, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred, or commensurate experience
  • 3+ years' experience in crane maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or industrial maintenance
  • Valid crane operator certification and maintenance credentials as required by local regulations
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for documentation and coordination
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and industrial environments
  • Commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of crane systems, hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Corrigo CMMS or similar work order management systems
  • Experience reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Proficiency in safety protocols for heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance tools, equipment, and safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Participate in 10-minute safety "toolbox talks" at shift beginning to review daily work safety requirements and emergency safety issues
  • Receive and execute work orders from the Crane Facilities Coordinator and Lead Technician, prioritizing production-impacting work as directed
  • Verify material availability for assigned work orders and gather necessary tools and equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on crane systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work in Corrigo system with detailed notes on repairs, parts used, and time spent
  • Communicate work progress and any issues to Lead Technician and Facilities Coordinator
