About The Position

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified Crane Maintenance & Repair Technician responsible for performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, testing, and repair services on a variety of military ammunition transportation cranes. The role ensures equipment operational readiness in compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, safety regulations, and contract requirements.

Requirements

  • OEM certification for crane maintenance and repair (preferred for Grove, Oshkosh, HIAB, or similar).
  • Proven experience in heavy equipment or crane maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and software aligned with OEM standards.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
  • Physically capable of working in various environmental and weather conditions.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards, Army regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (e.g., hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots).
  • Follow all Fort Bragg security, access, and conduct policies.
  • Report accidents/incidents within required timelines.
  • Comply with environmental and hazardous material handling regulations.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain installation access credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate service and recovery vehicles.
  • Availability to work standard hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) with potential for after-hours, weekends, or holidays.
  • Willingness to support equipment transport operations as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting military or government contracts.
  • Familiarity with HEMTT (M985) and MTV (M1084A1) vehicle-mounted crane systems.
  • Experience with quality control plans and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on multiple crane systems (e.g., Grove, Oshkosh, HIAB).
  • Conduct on-site and off-site repairs in accordance with task orders and operational needs.
  • Utilize OEM-approved diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues.
  • Install, test, and replace hydraulic hoses and components per manufacturer specifications.
  • Execute quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks to ensure full operational capability.
  • Ensure all repairs meet or exceed OEM standards and technical manuals.
  • Coordinate and/or perform transportation of disabled equipment using DOT-approved recovery vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform daily cleanup of work areas.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, diagnostics, and repairs performed.
