About The Position

Installs and maintains process pipe and piping systems within the refinery. Selects, installs, and removes various pipe, and piping systems, fittings, gaskets, tubing, and valves. Repairs and replaces flanges and performs maintenance on leaking pipes. Follows safety and work permits to tie into existing lines, vessels, or tanks. Uses hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks. Uses precision measuring and alignment tools to ensure proper alignment. Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and drawings. Follows guidelines and procedures to ensure that equipment is working in a safe and reliable manner. This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. The hourly rate for this position is $55.78 and represents Valero’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 5 years related pipefitter experience is required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
  • All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). It is Valero’s policy that employees must wear this card at all times while working at the refinery. Please review eligibility criteria at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic.
