About The Position

The Craft Foreman is responsible for the successful completion of field tasks, ensuring quality construction, zero accidents, and adherence to budget as assigned by the Project Superintendent. This role also involves providing support and accurate information to the Project Superintendent. The foreman will organize and monitor crews, verify work accuracy, ensure safety compliance by conducting daily Safety Task Assignments (STAs), and manage various operational aspects on site. This includes layout using survey equipment, completing timesheets, handling material requisitions, managing small tools, monitoring productivity, maintaining field logs, and managing erosion control. The position requires active participation in meetings, assisting with facility startup, coordinating with shop drawings, providing as-built information, and contributing to production plans. Additionally, the Craft Foreman is responsible for material handling, inventory, understanding task budgets, assisting with scheduling, reporting issues, recognizing exceptional craft workers, and supporting worker training. A significant part of the role involves leading by example in safety, assisting with accident investigations, ensuring crew adherence to safety rules, scheduling training, completing safety paperwork, assisting with safety violations, complying with Risk Management, and monitoring subcontractor compliance.

  • Five (5) years construction-related experience with record of quality and profitable craft work
  • Requires regular communication with the Project Manager for project issues
  • Requires regular communication with the General Superintendent and Safety & Health Director for labor, material and equipment issues and training
  • Requires regular communication with the Senior Craft Foreman and the Project Superintendent for daily tasks

Responsibilities

  • Successful completion of field tasks with quality construction, zero accidents, and within budget
  • Provide support and accurate information to the Project Superintendent
  • Organize and monitor crews
  • Verify accuracy of work (i.e. dimension verification)
  • Safety Compliance, conduct daily STA’s with crews
  • Layout (use of survey equipment)
  • Complete timesheets with certified payroll
  • Field material requisitions
  • Small tool management
  • Monitor and report productivity
  • Maintain field Logs (i.e. equipment inspections, Daily Safety Checklist)
  • Maintain Erosion Control (i.e. SWPPP reports, correct measures if needed)
  • Identify drawing discrepancies
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings
  • Assist with facility startup activities
  • Coordinate work with shop drawings
  • Provide as-built information to field management
  • Provide input for production plans
  • Material handling, receiving & inventory
  • Know and understand budgets for each task
  • Assist Superintendent with 5-week schedule
  • Report issues or problems to field management
