About The Position

Climate Pros University offers limited enrollment for motivated high school graduates or individuals with a GED interested in entering a high‑demand, mission‑critical industry. Our work ensures food safety nationwide, and we train future technicians to support this essential infrastructure. As a full‑time trainee in the CPU Refrigeration Academy, you’ll receive a competitive weekly salary while learning from experienced Field Training Managers. Over a structured 12‑week program, you’ll develop skills in repairing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining refrigeration systems through classroom instruction, hands‑on labs, and field experience. Training hours vary between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend assignments. Ideal candidates hold a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and are committed to obtaining EPA Universal and OSHA‑30 certifications within two months of starting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • EPA Certification: Universal (Obtain within 2 months of start date)
  • OSHA-10 Certification (Obtain within 2 months of start date)
  • Excellent communication skills (reading/writing/speaking)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Honest and loyal team player, willing to do whatever it takes; safely!

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform proper service practices.
  • Learn how to respond to service calls, perform scheduled maintenance, make refrigeration and mechanical equipment repairs.
  • Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment.
  • Learn to install refrigeration equipment and all related parts and pieces.
  • Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs.
  • Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team.
  • Provide own basic trade tools as required.
  • Demonstrate retention of knowledge through both hands-on and written testing.
  • Travel Required
  • Other duties as required, including working in other departments.
