About The Position

The Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking to add a Residential Coverage Coordinator to our Residential Services team! In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating staff coverage across residential homes in Lewis County to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the people we support. Working closely with the Residential Administrative Team, you will manage staffing plans, coordinate coverage for vacant shifts, and maintain communication with residential staff to ensure all homes are adequately staffed.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple platforms (phone, email, text).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling platforms such as Deputy.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel between sites and meet agency qualifications to drive agency vehicles.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered.
  • Typical qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, OR Associate's Degree and 3 years of experience working in an OPWDD residential setting, OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience working in an OPWDD residential setting.
  • At least one year of scheduling experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly coverage sheets identifying all scheduled staff and vacant shifts across residential homes.
  • Share coverage schedules with the Residential Administrative Team at least one week in advance and update them as shifts are filled.
  • Serve as the primary contact for filling open shifts using available staff lists, per diem staff, and float staff.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with residential staff regarding open shifts and coverage needs using SMS platforms and other communication tools.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Directors to coordinate staffing coverage for their assigned homes.
  • Monitor staffing plans for each residential home and adjust coverage sheets as changes occur.
  • Maintain a leave request calendar to ensure adequate staffing levels when approving time off.
  • Coordinate with leadership regarding shift differentials and staffing-related communications.
  • Ensure required documentation related to differentials or paid-to-sleep shifts is submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
  • Participate in staffing plan reviews with the Residential Director and leadership team.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and committees as assigned.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and assist with evening or weekend coverage needs when necessary.
  • Promote agency policies related to safety, confidentiality, compliance, and protection of the people we support.
