About The Position

This position is responsible for administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title I, Pregnant Workers’ Fairness Act (PWFA), and Maternity and Parental Leave programs for the Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA). The role requires considerable independent judgment while coordinating with OSCA staff to provide guidance and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.In addition, the incumbent proposes policy recommendations, facilitates educational and training opportunities, and provides technical assistance to Human Resources liaisons throughout the State Courts System (SCS) on these programs and other leave and accommodation initiatives. This position serves as a backup to the Retirement Coordinator in the administration of retirement accounts for SCS employees, as well as to the ADA Title II Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, information technology, business management, public or business administration, social science, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and maternity and parental leave requirements.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, compliance standards, and best practices related to leave administration and employee accommodations.
  • Skill in preparing policy recommendations, technical guidance, and training materials.
  • Skill in effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in handling complex or sensitive employment matters.
  • Ability to provide guidance and consultation to employees, supervisors, and HR partners.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders throughout a large organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information accurately and discreetly.

Responsibilities

  • Administers FMLA, ADA (Title I), PWFA, and Maternity and Parental Leave for the OSCA
  • Serves as statewide coordinator for FMLA, ADA (Title I), PWFA, and Maternity and Parental Leave
  • Serves as the backup to the Retirement Coordinator for the SCS
  • Serves as the backup to the ADA Title II Coordinator for the SCS
  • Coordinates and completes special projects as required
  • Assists with other job-related duties as assigned.
